Many of our clients are passionate about various causes: some care about access to education and healthcare, affordable housing, microfinance to help alleviate poverty and hunger, or renewable energy, among other issues. Some of these causes can best be supported via private investments and/or charitable giving and we discuss with our clients whether that’s appropriate for their situation. And, with the increased availability of public market investment products that consider environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) criteria, investing their money well and incorporating their values are no longer mutually exclusive.
